Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 June 2026
These terms govern your use of crud.md and its tools. By using the site or buying a licence, you agree to them. Please read the disclaimer about your files — it matters.
1. Who we are
crud.md ("we", "us") is operated by Andrew Dowell, based in the United Kingdom. Contact: support@crud.md.
2. The service
crud.md provides browser-based tools that clean and convert Markdown and related export files entirely on your device. Each tool offers a free tier that processes a capped sample, and a one-time licence (currently $19 for Notion Unfck) that unlocks the full version. We may add, change, or discontinue tools over time.
3. Your licence
When you buy a licence you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the paid features of that tool. The licence key is for your own use across your devices — please don't resell, publish, or share it, and don't attempt to circumvent the paywall or generate keys. We may disable keys that are abused, shared publicly, or obtained fraudulently.
4. Intellectual property
The tools, site, and their code and design are owned by us or our licensors. Your files and the output they produce are entirely yours — we claim no rights over them, and (as set out in our Privacy Policy) we never even receive them.
5. Acceptable use
Use the tools lawfully. Don't use them to process content you have no right to, don't attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service to bypass payment, and don't misuse our infrastructure.
6. Payment, tax & reseller
Purchases are sold and processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) acting as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, applicable sales tax/VAT, and your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Prices are shown at checkout and are one-time unless stated otherwise.
7. Your files are your responsibility — keep backups
The tools transform copies of the files you provide, in your browser, on a best-effort basis. They are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we do not guarantee that the output is complete, accurate, or error-free for every export. Always keep a backup of your original files and review the output before relying on it or deleting your source. You use the tools at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of or damage to data, arising from your use of the tools. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant licence (and is zero for the free tier). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Refunds
Our refund terms are set out in the Refund Policy.
10. Changes & termination
We may update these terms or the service from time to time; the "last updated" date reflects the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes. We may suspend access for breach of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts there have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
